About Tyneeta

Tyneeta comes from a family of change makers who were at the forefront of integration in the New Orleans business and public school systems. Their courage shaped the way she understands justice, humanity, and leadership. With a lineage rooted in advocacy and quiet strength, she inherited a deep commitment to building spaces where people can lead without disconnecting from themselves.

Training & Credentials

With more than 30 years of experience as an educational leader, Tyneeta has guided teams, schools, and organizations through growth, transition, and culture building. She is a University of Pennsylvania Graduate School of Education alumna and:

  • Intercultural Development Inventory Qualified Administrator

  • Minnesota Office of Charter Authorizers Board Member

  • Women’s Heads Network Member

  • 2021 NAIS Aspiring Heads Institute Fellow

Approach

She focuses deeply on what people need in order to thrive at work: belonging, clarity, acknowledgment, and self-trust. Her lens is shaped not only by research and training, but by her experience as a working mother, a Black woman leader, and a lifelong learner committed to equity and liberation.

Part of her practice includes intentionally decentering harmful norms in leadership. This means naming and countering the psychological impacts of working in predominantly white spaces, while helping organizations design systems that prioritize wholeness, equity, and humanity.

Her work is grounded in emergent strategy, intercultural competence, and community-led growth. She supports organizations in creating systems and cultures where people feel seen, valued, and connected.

Outside of her consulting and leadership work, Tyneeta is a storyteller and host of The Ordinary Leaders Podcast, where she reflects on everyday leadership, identity, and the lessons life continues to teach us. She is also a proud mother of an adult son who travels the world as a professional dancer, and she carries deep joy in watching him live out his dreams.

All of this informs her belief that leadership should never require you to abandon yourself.

And through WE Consulting, she helps others live and lead from that truth.

Tyneeta was instrumental in our Equity Strategic Plan at NMA. Over six months, she helped us engage our entire school community in understanding what it means to be an anti-racist school. Our plan is now focused, actionable, and aligned with how we understand justice in our community. We could not have done this without her support.

I would highly recommend anyone desiring to grow their leadership to attend the Level Up Leadership Lab in New Orleans. Tyneeta is an incredible steward of the city, and I gained so much from the experience. Highly, highly recommend.
