Open House, Open Hearts

I recently celebrated my upcoming transition into running WE Consulting full time. I was overwhelmed by the high vibrations and joy in the atmosphere. At a time when I really needed support, my friends and colleagues surrounded me with pride and faith in my entrepreneurial journey.

I shared my story, the history of my family's activism and my own challenges and triumphs as a leader. I shared why I am leaving the security of working a traditional job to face the uncertainties of what lies ahead of me head-on.

How am I navigating this major life change? I'm so glad you asked! Change is often difficult, so I'm being proactive by

1. Staying connected to my values and allowing them to guide my decisions and actions as I navigate the changes ahead.

2. Practicing self-care by engaging in activities that nourish my mind, body, and soul. Whether it's exercise, meditation, or spending time with loved ones, listening to my body and making time to rest, recharge and rejuvenate is essential.

3. Embracing flexibility and expecting to have to adapt my plans. I'm trusting my experience and proven ability to overcome obstacles.

4. Having clear boundaries by protecting my time, energy, and well-being. I've had to learn to say no to commitments that don't align with my priorities and to focus on what truly matters to me.

5. Connecting to community by continuing to engage in equity-focused work, even during periods of transition. I know that my unique perspective and contributions are valuable, and my community provides support and encouragement as I navigate the changes ahead. I am not navigating these changes alone.

The open house was more than just a celebration of a new business venture; it was a testament to the power of community. As guests mingled and explored the beautiful Tipton-Hammond Arts gallery, I was reminded of the diverse network of individuals who have each encouraged me in their own unique way.

By the end of the night, my heart was overflowing with gratitude. While the road ahead of us doesn't guarantee any outcome with certainty, the overwhelming support and positivity experienced during the event have left me feeling optimistic and energized. I am ready to embrace the opportunities and possibilities that lie ahead with WE Consulting. Here's to new beginnings, endless possibilities, and the power of community to uplift and inspire us along the way.
