Dr. Marsh is a Associate Professor of Sociology at the University of Maryland and the author of The Love Jones Cohort: Single and Living Alone in the Black Middle Class.

She joined me in the latest episode of Ordinary Leaders and we tackled topics like:
*The pressure to avoid being single, leading people to stay in unhealthy relationships
*The strength required to be single, especially under societal scrutiny
*The policing of Black single women and the need for autonomy in dating choices
*The importance of having a diverse network of friends for happiness
*Rethinking what it means to be a friend and making new friends in adulthood
*The connection between socialization, health, and wellness
*The value of community, especially in challenging political times, and the encouragement to make more friends
*And of course, leadership
